I am in a large lecture-based class in the College of Business this semester. The professor “highly encouraged” us to start reading business periodicals as part of our business education - and quite conveniently he had forms to subscribe to the student deal of the Wall Street Journal - one semester for only $30 - “A great deal!” - but was it really?
After doing some research, the comparison is here:
15 weeks for $30 = $2.00 per week - Wall Street Journal Student Price
52 weeks for $99 = $1.90 per week- Wall Street Journal
So they have the students paying more per issue than normal subscribers? I realize it’s still cheaper overall, but it just seems a little shady to me. “Student-buyers beware.”
